Nimbed Saint Stephen standing left, holding a palm and a stone, in a mandorla. Rv. * MONETA CIVITATIS METEN. (date). Shield of Metz simple (or square) within an epicycloid flory, flanked by rosettes. Flon 13 (3rd type) - W.II/F/o/3 (with square shield) - Dav.5581 ; Silver - 28,25 g - 42 mm - 3 h The metal slightly pinched and the strike barely treflé otherwise a remarkable specimen for this rare type with a light grey patina. Almost Superb. Struck between 7 and 26 May 1638 following a change of foot and appearance of the coin.
