The Genius of France engraving the word CONSTITUTION (in two lines) on a table of the law resting on an altar, flanked by a beam to the left, a cock to the right. DUPRÉ cursive signature on the base of the altar. In the exergue: (date). G.62 - Fr.478; Gold - 7.6 g - 23.5 mm - 6 h Top Pop: this is the finest graded example! From the Alde-OGN sale of 19 October 2016 n° 497 with its label. PCGS AU58 (55951687). Only 1344 examples struck! Beautiful mintage, slightly off-centre and retaining its original lustre under a slight patina. The wear is low for this example which has circulated little. A superb example.
