Bearded head right, below signature J. GESSENER. F. and (date) cut from the shield of Neuchâtel. Rv. DEDICATED TO THE INTERNATIONAL MONETARY COMMISSION. Within a wreath of two olive branches, the crowned shield of France; below 5 FRANCS and below TITLE 0,835 - WEIGHT 25 Gs. GEM.cf. 128.P1 - G.cf. 654 - Maz.cf. 927 - VG.cf. 2735 - BC.cf. 428 ; Steel - 560 g and 603 g - 55 (useful 42) mm - 12 h These coins are preserved in original boxwood cases (one barely chipped). From CGB, Monnaies 46 (on the cover of the catalogue). Very rare pair of corners, the reverse one barely chipped at 5 o'clock (7 o'clock on the mint). Excellent condition. One of a kind! Superb Fleur de coin. Of remarkable quality and care of engraving, by an engraver who seems to have only this test to his credit, J. Gessener. This mint was struck at a time when the return of Henry V to France was being discussed, just before his refusal to recognise the tricolour flag.
