The Jules Audéoud prize (1864-1907) is awarded every four years and is intended to reward printed works or institutions, relating to the improvement of the lot of the working classes or the relief of the poor. The Caisse syndicale d'assurance mutuelle des Forges de France was set up in 1891, with 21 establishments employing over 41,000 workers. It was awarded the gold medal of the Audéoud prize in 1901.
