Bust of Daniel-Dupuis on the left; on the right his monogram and below (date). Rv. A cherub seated on a cloud, a torch in the right hand and laurel branches in the left hand; below monogram and, in the globe, the dates 15 - FEBRUARY - MDCCCXLIX/ 13 - NOVEMBER - MDCCCXCIX. Maier 7; Silver - 56.62 g - 50 mm - 12 h Top Pop: this is the only graded example! On the edge hallmarks (horn) SILVER (lizard), number 75. Only 110 examples struck in silver and distributed to members of the Société des Amis de la Médaille Française. PCGS MS64 (57658155). On a matt blank, the high reliefs barely touched. Superb in Fleur de coin. On the right, the self-portrait of Daniel-Dupuis made in 1876 and the reverse inspired by monetary competitions, in homage to the SAMF, following the death of the author, murdered in his sleep by his neurasthenic wife.
