With an old patina, with iridescent and golden reflections on the right. Superb at Fleur de coin. On the reverse, the statue of Napoleon I as a Roman Emperor by Antoine Chaudet was inaugurated on 15 August 1810 on the Vendôme column, made from the bronze of 1200 Austrian and Russian cannons taken at Austerlitz, on the model of the Trajan column in Rome. Chaudet's statue was replaced in 1814 by a flag adorned with a fleur-de-lis, while it was recast to create the statue of Henri IV on the Pont Neuf. In 1830, the royal flag was replaced by a tricolour flag, and then in 1833 by a new statue of Napoleon as a colonel of the Guard mounted chasseurs, wearing a bicorne and frock coat, with his hand traditionally tucked into his waistcoat, the work of Charles Émile Seurre. In 1863, the statue was replaced by an imperial Napoleon draped in antique style, by Auguste Dumont, and found its place on the Courbevoie roundabout. In 1870, it was overturned and submerged in the Seine, but recovered to be placed at Les Invalides, where it remains to this day.
