FRANCE - ORDER OF THE LEGION OF HONOUR, created in 1802 First Empire officer's star with 4th type crown, "de Biennais" model In gold and enamel (the reverse of the enamel on the upper arm is missing). The crown has arches with fleurons and pearls, mounted with an earlier star. Fluted ring. Later puffed ribbon. 60 x 42 mm (2 ½ x 1 ¾ in.) - Gross weight: 25 g. T.B. to T.T.B. Long attributed to Biennais, these products are now associated with the silversmith Coudray. A rare flag from the Third Regiment of the Irish Brigade, late 18th century - early 19th century (before 1801)
