France Officer's sabre of the Chasseurs à pieds of the Imperial Guard of the First Empire Gilt bronze mounting with one chiselled branch, wooden spindle with silver filigree, cruciate with engraved mounts on both sides with the profile of the Emperor on the front, engraved right quillon, Curved blade with carp tongue and recessed edge engraved 2/3 in a row with foliage framing a cartouche containing "GARDE IMPERIALE" on one side and "CHASSEURS A PIEDS" on the other, surmounted by an imperial eagle (missing the blue and gold), leather scabbard decorated with lines, two brass fittings also decorated with lines, missing gilding, oxidation in places.
