The present composition has been recreated several times by Zanin. He has produced about 40 works with this subject matter, numbering each one. The number 14, written on a label attached to the stretcher, could be one of them. He copied a popular composition by Bernardo Bellotto depicting the Scuola Grande di San Marco with the Rio dei Mandicanti that is now in the Accademia, Venice.
