Edition of 265 copies, this one N°191, one of two hundred numbered on Arches paper. 1 vol. large in-4, unpaginated. Paperback, printed and filled covers, title and author in red and black, illustrated stencil vignette in the centre of the front cover. Illustrated with 15 stencils by Simon Bussy, coloured by Jean Saudé, twelve of which are hors-texte. 34.2 x 28.8 x 2.2 cm Good condition inside, but the cover is missing at the head of the spine and there are small stains on the cover. The title "Bestiaire" on the spine is intact. Francis de Miomandre French writer and sixth winner of the Prix Goncourt for his novel Écrit sur de l'eau in 1908, he is also known for his translations of the great texts of Hispanic literature, notably the works of Miguel Ángel Asturias, Miguel de Unamuno and Cervantes. Simon Bussy French painter, best known for his portraits and landscapes, as well as his pastels of animals, treated with great attention to detail and simplification of form. One of the founding painters of the Nabi movement, along with Paul Sérusier and Edmond Milcendeau. His works are exhibited in several museums, notably in Paris (Musée d'Orsay) and London.
