Old restorations
Our painting is the right-hand side of a landscape that was sold at Sotheby's New York on 20 May 2003, no. 146 (View of the Arno and Monte Pisano, and the town of Fagnano; signed and dated 1822). Another version, wider, was sold by Farsetti in 2015 (attributed to Jean-Victor Bertin with the subject View of the countryside of Lucca, Tuscany. In this case, it would be the Nottolini aqueduct, built between 1822 and 1833 by the architect Lorenzo Nottolini).
