Successor The boy Jesus blesses John the Baptist Standing on a cloud, the boy Jesus holds his hand in blessing over the head of John the Baptist, who is kneeling below in a praying posture and is clothed only in a fur. The two are accompanied by numerous cherubs. At the lower edge of the picture a staff with the banner "Ecce Agnus Dei". Finely painted work from the late 18th/early 19th century in the style of François Boucher, executed in finely nuanced, pastel-toned colouring. Oil/cardboard or panel.
