François Jean MOULY (1846-1886): Vercingetorix at Gergovia. Large bronze print with brown patina. Signed on the terrace. Foundry stamp Gauthier. H: 100 cm (at the top of the spear). Slight scratches. History: original plaster cast made in 1886 for a call for tenders by the town of Clermont-Ferrand. A cast iron example cast in 1887 for the town of GIEN. Another example made in 1890 for the city of Bordeaux, destroyed during the Occupation. Several bronze reductions were cast.
