François VIGER (Master clockmaker in 1744). Louis XVI period marble clock representing equity. Rich ornamentation of gilt bronzes. Black and white enamel frame, purple signature Viger in Paris. This clock was presented at the public sale of antiques at the Galerie Royale on 28 and 29 November 1941. The expertise of the time attributes the sculpture to the workshops of Falconet. Provenance: Private collection of a retired antique dealer in his eighties. Height: 40 cm. Damage to the neck and wrist.
