The drawing, executed on white card, is fixed here on grey card, on which a photograph from a newspaper has been pasted, showing François Gilot followed by Picasso, who is holding a parasol to protect her. Françoise Gilot, a painter, was Picasso's companion between 1944 and 1953. She had two children with him, Claude and Paloma. Picasso called her "the woman who says no".
