Franz Pflugradt (1861 Peenwerder/Demmin - 1946 Zingst) Autumnal birch forest Pflugradt's forest impression, executed in atmospheric colouring, effective treatment of light and a strongly impasto, relief-like style, was painted at the age of 17 on the advice of his uncle, the Berlin painter Gustav Pflugradt, when he began studying at the Berlin Art Academy under Eugen Bracht and Max Koner. From 1910 he settled in Stralsund and found his motifs in the landscape of Western Pomerania, but also created urban and architectural views of Stralsund and the surrounding area.
