One of 100 copies. - André Lanskoy, a central figure of Lyrical Abstraction in France, developed a colour-intensive, rhythmically structured pictorial language from the 1940s onwards, based on late Cubism and influenced by Russian icon painting. The present composition is characterised by intensely coloured, monochrome surfaces, which are set in dynamic formations and interwoven with one another, creating the effect of a visual score, full of movement, light and inner music.
