Several trips took him to southern Europe and North Africa. In 1951, Hundertwasser became a member of the Art-Club. With "provocative" art actions, such as the proclamation of the mould manifesto, he became known in Austria, although not always loved. However, his fame abroad also increased his popularity in Austria. Hundertwasser's works with their poetic and symbolic meaning are appreciated worldwide.
