Friedrich Hechelmann (born 1948 Isny im Allgäu)
"The New Jerusalem"
Semicircular arch-shaped composition. Fantastic-surrealistic depiction of the "New Jerusalem" (also known as the "Heavenly Jerusalem"), created in 1995, inspired by the vision from the New Testament book of the Revelation of John (Chapter 21), according to which a new city in glistening light - the "New Jerusalem" - will emerge at the end of the Apocalypse. In the years 1996/97 to 2006, he continued to pursue the theme of the "New Jerusalem", among other things in an oil painting for the Ebersbach church in the Allgäu region, also in the shape of a semicircular arch. Hechelmann studied at the Vienna Academy from 1969-1972 as a master student of Rudolf Hausner. Hausner's influence as an important representative of the Viennese School of Fantastic Realism is eminent in Hechelmann's oeuvre. Oil/panel (probably MDF or wood panel). R. u. monogr. and dat. (19)95. 75 cm x 31 cm. Probably original frame.
Oil on panel (probably wood or MDF board). Monogrammed and dated (19)95.
