Fritz Flinte. (1876 Hamburg - 1963 ibid.) "Still life with table". Original title Still life with bottle, can, plate and cloth arranged on a table, painted in a broad, furious style around 1946. A characteristic work in terms of style and motif, dominated by strong shadows, Flintes created an eminent number of still lifes, which he mostly staged on a table. The Hamburg artist studied at the Stuttgart Academy from 1901 to 1905 in Carlos Grethe's painting class and attended Robert Poetzelberger's drawing courses. He then returned to his hometown as a freelance artist and became a member of the Hamburg Secession. In 1961 he received the famous Edwin Scharff Prize awarded by the Hanseatic City of Hamburg.
