After graduating from high school in 1941, he completed his military service and was in captivity until 1948. He then began his studies in 1948 at the Academy of Applied Arts in Vienna, where he studied with Professor Albert Paris Gütersloh. Itzinger developed largely self-taught and was a versatile artist who mastered painting and other artistic techniques. He regularly exhibited his works and received awards for his artistic work. Itzinger was active in the Austrian art scene and left behind a diverse body of work that includes both traditional and modern elements. He died in Goldegg in 1993. His artistic work is characterised by intensive colour studies and a harmonious combination of formal structure and emotional expression.
