Gabriel VIARDOT (1830-1904) A flap desk in natural wood, with an asymmetrical top featuring a central drawer with two leaves and four display shelves. The architectural uprights, inspired by a Japanese temple, are adorned with Greek, torus and chased bronze plaques in the Far Eastern style. The lower part opens with a drawer and a hogback flap revealing two drawers. The whole is decorated with alternating carvings of flowering branches and mother-of-pearl marquetry with butterflies and floral motifs. It stands on four legs finished with lions' paws.
