GANDHARAN KUSHAN PERIOD HEAD OF BODHISATTVA Ca. AD 30 - 375 A carved schist head of bodhisattva in the Kushan Empire technique. The elaborately fashioned ushnisha has overflowing hair, set within a headband. The face depicts a serence expression with deep set eyes, long nose, lobed ears and mustached lips. This is a fine example of Greco-Buddhist art, highlighting the legacy left behind by Alexander the Great.
