GANDHARAN SCHIST PALETTE WITH FIGURAL SCENE Ca. 300 AD. A circular schist palette with the recessed face divided into two horizontal registers. The upper register depicts a narrative scene with two richly adorned kneeling figures, the male on the left wearing a headdress and tunic, placing his hand on the shoulder of the female figure, who wears a layered garment and elaborate jewellery. Attendants appear on either side, and the lower register is filled with stylised palmette leaves. The reverse is incised with concentric bands of radiating rosettes.
