GANDHARAN SCHIST PANEL DEPICTING BUDDHA AND WORSHIPPERS Ca. AD 100 - 300. A finely carved narrative relief in grey schist depicting a group of male worshippers in dynamic poses, before a seated Buddha, likely referencing a scene of veneration. At the far left, the Buddha is shown seated within an arch, on a throne with a serpent below the seat. His serene, meditative presence contrasts sharply with the vigorous energy of the figures to his right. Size: 220mm x 430mm; Weight: 12.1kg Provenance: Private London collection, acquired on the UK art market; Ex. A. Kotlar collection, acquired in 2003.
