This magnificent quarter statere shows the Celtic rune Dagaz under the horse! There is an identical example at BnF no. 6940 attributed to the Unelles [https://gallica.bnf.fr/ark:/12148/btv1b112879480]. In a very fine style, the manufacture is close to its prototype of Philip of Macedonia, with the remainder of the legend on the reverse. Good centering and excellent conservation. Superb at Fleur de coin.
