Parisii. statere, class II ND (1st century BC).
Front. Profile on the right, simplified hair, made of curved lines rolled up at their ends. On the forehead crescent-shaped locks; decoration in vertical lines below the neck line; vertical scroll with double volute in front of the face.
Rv. Horse leaping to left, with beaded mane and breast with globules; wavy line starting from mouth; above, simulacrum of charioteer in reticulated ornament (fillet); below, beaded rosette.

On a reduced blank, the strike is centred with a slight weakness to the right. The mouth in torque is characteristic. Beautiful golden patina. Very rare. Superb.
The class II defined by Colbert de Beaulieu was known by 6 specimens, but 24 other specimens are since listed, bringing the total of known specimens to approximately 30 specimens.
