GAULE - CELTIC Riedones. Statère de billon à la rouelle, class I, variety 3 ND (1st century BC). Av. Profile with large head of hair, arranged in wavy locks under a laurel wreath with three parallel rows of three elements. Above the crown, two buns and scrolled locks on either side. The mouth in the form of two dots. Rv. Androcephalous horse right, led by its charioteer holding the reins; below the horse a beaded wheel with four spokes. DT.2314 - LT.6774 ; Billon - 6,59 g - 23 mm - 8 h From the collection of J.-B. Colbert de Beaulieu, then sold at Offres Burgan, September 1991, No. 138. The tail is double and smooth on the reverse. Exceptional obverse with full, complete and detailed hair, with two buns. With a nice grey patina. Superb.
