GAULE - CELTIC Sessions. Pot with swastika ND (c. 120-50 BC). Av. Swastika in full field turning right around a central globule, decorated with small globules and small esses; listel with bezants. Rv. Horse left framed by a small pointed ringlet in front of the chest, a larger pointed ringlet above and four pointed ringlets forming a trefoil between the legs; scroll of small segments. LT.7873 - DT.214; Potin - 2.98 g - 20.5 mm - 1 h With casting jet. Low weight. The patina is shiny dark green, with light concretions. TTB to Superb. The series of Sessions potins, dating from the end of the second century to the Gallic War, is composed of several types, this one with the swastika being the most impressive. The workmanship of these potins is particularly fine and meticulous, with wide, evenly sized blanks, which differs greatly from other contemporary potins.
