Remarkable set of 5 original silver prints of a trip by General de Gaulle, possibly to Algiers airfield, accompanied by André Diethelm. During the Free French period, Diethelm had several important roles, first as Commissioner for Finance and Pensions, then for Finance, the Economy and the Merchant Navy in the French National Committee. In 1944, the General appointed him Minister for War. In this position, he played an important role in the liberation. A man the General trusted, the latter said of him: "I don't think there is a more faithful companion, nor a man of higher conscience" (Mémoires de guerre).
