The municipal elections were what they were supposed to be. The conservatives (moderates and radicals) who had left the Rassemblement won the votes that followed them, especially as public opinion now felt reassured about the Communist threats and, consequently, returned to the usual vomiting. The Left abandoned me after the Liberation because they are against the State. The Right abandoned me afterwards because it is against the people. However, neither the Right nor the Left have succeeded in really governing since I left. Nor will they succeed today. Sooner or later, these national palinodies will end in disaster.
