Copy on publisher's paper with a curious handwritten note on the first white endpaper: "France, oh my altar, Cross of Lorraine my flag: ... Curious binding embossed with the V of Victory and the Cross of Lorraine, which seems to float in the air. The copy may have been given to the General as a token of admiration. Spine unstained.
