GAULLE Charles de
L.A.S., Paris, 14 May 1937, to Paul Reynaud; 2 pages in-4.
Praise for Paul Reynaud's book Le Problème militaire français.
"I would like to thank you very much for the beautiful souvenir you sent me, which I consider to be an infinitely precious token of your esteem.
Your book on the French military problem is admirable. It contains well-packaged, well-connected, strikingly expressed, massive arguments that are entirely capable of convincing and seducing. This will be "known" and it will also be known that you are the only leading statesman of our time with the courage, intelligence and national sense to tackle head-on the military problem on which France's destiny depends. We would have to go back to Jaurès to find another example. But Jaurès only played one string with his superb bow.
Slight tears on one side, light spotting.
