GAULLE Charles de
L.A.S., Paris, 15 November 1935, to Paul Reynaud; 2 pages in-8 on the printed letterhead of the Presidency of the Conseil Supérieur de la Défense Nationale.
Charles de Gaulle entrusts two of his works to Paul Reynaud.
"In the midst of events that so clearly vindicate your doctrines and bring your personality to the fore, I don't think you want to devote time to military matters. That is why I am somewhat confused to be sending you today two modest works from 1924 and 1932! I do so, however, in the belief that you will see in them simply the tribute of my respectful devotion.
In 1924, Charles de Gaulle published his first book, La Discorde chez l'ennemi (Paris, Berger-Levrault), a collection of 5 lectures he gave after the war.
In 1932, Le Fil de l'épée was published, also by Berger-Levrault. This work contains studies that had already been published in magazines, but which were substantially revised for this publication.
Bibliography: L. N. C., vol. 1, p. 785.
