GAUTIER Théophile (1811-1872). Ménagerie intime. Paris, Lemerre, 1869; in-12, havana half-chagrin, spine ribbed with gilt fleurons, ornamented olive cover. First edition of a personal account by Théophile Gautier during his lifetime, devoted entirely to his pets, in particular his cats.
☞ One of the very few copies printed on China paper, very well preserved.
