Georges HALBOUT DU TANNEY (1895-1986) Abdela. Cast in plaster with bronze patina. Signed on the base. Height: 32 cm. Note: Georges Halbout 1895-1986 was a student of Jean Boucher at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, then shared his studio with Paul Belmondo in the Parc Monsouris. He won numerous awards, including the Blumenthal Prize in 1920 and the Abd-el-Tif Prize in 1928. He moved to Algeria and became a teacher at the Algiers School of Fine Arts. He won a silver medal at the 1937 Universal Exhibition and a gold medal at the 1938 Salon des Artistes Français. He was awarded the Légion d'Honneur in 1950 and the Médaille de Vermeil de la Ville de Paris in 1982. His works are held in various museums, including the Musée national des Beaux-Arts in Algiers, the Musée national Zabana in Oran and the Petit Palais in Paris.
