Numbered by Hergé and signed Quick et Flupke in his own hand. This unique album will be referenced in the next BDM. This album was part of Hergé's personal collection. It seems that Hergé himself numbered this album at the time, creating a unique and personal first edition (since there is no known first edition of this title). Hergé affixed a number 3, then signed it Quick & Flupke in the same way as he and his wife Germaine did on the first editions. Apart from the last five titles, Coke en Stock, Tintin au Tibet, Les Bijoux de la Castafiore, Vol 714 pour Sydney and Tintin et les Picaros, no head editions were printed by Casterman, so for this title, the first published by the company, Hergé created a head edition for personal use, as he had done for the first three adventures of his characters. As with the Petits Vingtièmes, it is estimated that this print run consisted of around five albums. Faced with the popularity of Tintin and the increased work generated by his successes, following the example of Disney, in 1950 the Hergé studio, which became Hergé dessinateur, evolved to become Studios Hergé based on Avenue Louise in Brussels. The importance of this album lies in the fact that, once it had been created, Hergé stamped it with the Studios stamp, a copy that he had kept with him since its release. To date, we know of only one series of Quick and Flupke albums, of which this is one, in which Hergé created a first edition and stamped it with the Studios Hergé stamp during his lifetime, thus confirming his attachment to the characters he created at the same time as Tintin.
