Georges VAN DE VOORDE (1878-1964). Representation of Pieter Coutereel (1320-c. 1373), an important figure in the Flemish Middle Ages who was Burgomaster of Louvain in the 14th century. Plaster sculpture circa 1936. Related model: Monumental bronze version by the artist located in Leuven, Ferdinand Smoldersplein, inaugurated on 13 September 1936. Height: 118 cm. Provenance: Artist's studio. Collection of the Vandevoorde family since the mid-1960s (the spelling of the surname has no space in the civil register).
