Lot no. 120
German Post War Hans Jaenisch Abstract composition. Oil on wood panel. 100 x 70 cm. Monogrammed. Hans Jaenisch was born in Hamburg and began his artistic training at the School of Arts and Crafts in his home town, where he showed great interest in expressive and experimental forms of painting at an early age. During his creative period in the 1920s and 1930s, he initially orientated himself towards Expressionism, but soon found his own style, which is characterised by abstract and surreal elements. His dynamic pictorial compositions often evoke a mysterious, dream-like atmosphere and explore the boundaries between reality and imagination through the interplay of light, shadow and colour gradients. - Partial colour abrasion at the edges, two larger surface abrasions with loss of colour in the motif. Otherwise very good. Multifaceted composition with striking brushstrokes and thus contrasting delicate line drawing. The colour fresh and nuanced. Abstract composition. Oil on wooden panel.
