German Post War Hans Jaenisch Abstract composition. Oil on wood panel. 100 x 70 cm. Monogrammed. Hans Jaenisch studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Hamburg, where he received his first artistic impulses. During the National Socialist era, his art was categorised as "degenerate", but he remained artistically active. In the 1940s, he developed an abstract visual language that combined poetic and surreal elements. After the Second World War, Jaenisch became increasingly recognised. In 1949, he took part in the "Kunstschau Bielefeld", one of the first important art exhibitions after the war. His participation in documenta 1 in Kassel in 1955 was a great success and brought him international attention. From 1953, he held a professorship at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste Berlin, where he taught until 1976. His students included Eugen Schönebeck, Günter Thiele and Rainer Fetting. - The edges bumped in places. Otherwise very good. Dynamic, soaring composition with spatial depth effect, the colour rich in contrast and fresh. Oil on wooden panel.
