The Alpe della Pedriola is located in Macugnaga, on the right bank of the Belvedere glacier, on the way to the Zamboni Zappa refuge. From here, the view of the east face of Monte Rosa is spectacular. The artist has done an excellent job of rendering this impressive face, bathed in the light of the new day, while the chalets of the Alpe are still in shadow.
