In-16, jansenist havane morocco, blue morocco lining framed with gilt fillet, mordoré moire endpapers, double endpapers, gilt edges, cover and spine (Yseux). First edition, printed in an edition of 300 copies on Arches laid paper. Autograph signed letter to Agostino Sinadino (1876-1956), an Italian Symbolist poet of Greek origin, whose work was profoundly influenced by that of Gide. His correspondence with the author of La Porte étroite, recently published in the journal Studi francesi, is held by the Bibliothèque littéraire Jacques Doucet. Some foxing, first and last blank pages browned, tear repaired at corner of title, some stains on binding.
