Large in-8, royal blue Jansenist morocco, double gilt fillet on the edges, gilt edges, cream morocco lining in a rich frame of gilt and mosaic iris lace, folder (Mercier Sr de Cuzin). First edition and first print run of this superb publication by Henri Beraldi, illustrated with 63 wood-engraved compositions by Antoine Minartz. The current edition, in-8 format, was limited to 138 copies on Marais vellum. A unique copy printed on silk for Henri Beraldi. This precious and very rare print on ivory silk satin was made on Lahure's hand presses for the patron of this fine edition devoted to the Paris of the Belle Époque, illustrated by one of his favourite artists, the Cannes painter and engraver Antoine dit Tony Minartz (1870-1944). In the same year, Henri Beraldi published a highly complimentary review of the artist in the Revue de l'art ancien et moderne (1903, XIII, p. 340), which ends with this omen: "Tomorrow, all bibliophily will claim Tony Minartz". Very rich lined binding by Émile Mercier, former gilder to Francisque and Adolphe Cuzin, whom he succeeded in 1892.
