Giraud: Blueberry, plate no. 46 (end) in Indian ink from the episode "La Tribu fantôme" (The Phantom Tribe) pre-published in the magazine L'Écho des Savanes no. 83 of 1 December 1981 and published in album form by Éditions Hachette in 1982. This detailed panel brings the "Blueberry fugitif" cycle to a close, featuring Blueberry, Vittorio, Chini and McClure. The fine composition is underlined by the diversity of shots and characters: in the first part, we see the end of the battle with the main characters on horseback and the discovery of the remains of the terrible Eggskull; this sequence is enhanced by some fine portraits of the protagonists. In the second part, we find Blueberry and the Navajos at the gates of Mexico, the last strip being punctuated by a farewell panel between the hero and Chini; a fine cinematic panel at the end with the hero and his two companions as a column of Navajos heads towards Mexico under a setting sun.
