A figurative painter, he was part of the great vein of Tuscan painting without allowing himself to be influenced by new 20th century trends. In his paintings, the chromatic register oscillates between very dark backgrounds, inspired by 17th century painting, and intense chromatic accents that make his landscapes vibrate towards Impressionist light.
