Giuseppe Parvis (1832-1905), attribué à Vitrine à une porte et trois tiroirs Placage de bois clair polychrome à décor polychrome dans le goût égyptien Inscription au dos 'January 1898' Seconde moitié du XIXe siècle H 127 × L 82 × P 18 cm Giuseppe Parvis est né à Brème en 1832 et mort au Caire en 1909. Après avoir étudié à l'Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti de Turin, il part au Caire en 1859 ou il crée un magasin de meubles. Les Expositions Universelles ou Internationales de Paris (1867), Philadelphie (1876), Milan (1881) et Turin (1884) lui apporteront une reconnaissance internationale et il deviendra le fournisseur des khédives. Une armoire proche de notre vitrine sera exposé à l'exposition de Turin en 1884. H 127 × L 82 × P 18 cm Giuseppe Parvis was born in Bremen in 1832 and died in Cairo in 1909. After studying the the Accademia Albertina di Belle Arti in Turin, he left for Cairo in 1859 owhere he created a furniture store. The universal or international exhibitions of Paris (1867), Philadelphia (1876), Milan (1881) and Turin (1884) brought him international recognition and he became the supplier for the khedives. A dresser in the same style as our display case was exhibited at the 1884 Turin exhibition.
