GNATHIAN SKYPHOS WITH GRAPEVINE MOTIF Ca. 330 - 300 BC. A particularly nice example of a typical drinking cup from Southern Italy in the highly decorative Gnathian style. The vessel is decorated with geometric and vegetal motifs on a black background. The decoration on the front side includes a highly stylised vine pattern consisting of grapes, leaves, and tendrils around a central polychrome palmette.
