GOAT HEAD EARRING - former Kofler-Truniger collection Hellenistic, ca. 3rd–2nd century BC. Gold (ca. 92%). Tapered bow ending in a goat's head with horns. Filigree gold decoration at the base of the neck. H 3.2 cm. Total weight 4.5 g. Bow center with a restoration. Filigree plate on the neck with a crack, possibly restored. Minor dents and slightly bent. Provenance: - Collection of Ernst and Marthe Kofler-Truniger (1903–1990 & 1918–1999), Lucerne before 1964 (inv. no. K737A). - Swiss private collection, Lucerne, acquired from the above in ca. 1974. - By inheritance in the same Swiss family collection, Lucerne.
