GLASS TUMBLER SIGNED Eastern Mediterranean, mid 1st century AD An orange-coloured moulded glass beaker of truncated cone shape with a thick, flat base. The three-part mould formed a decoration in light relief of concentric lines framing a central frieze containing two lines of Greek inscriptions divided by two stylised palms. Restoration to the lip and reattached fractures. Height: 9.5 cm Provenance: Private collection, Île-de-France, acquired from the Louvre des Antiquaires in the mid-1990s Two very similar goblets bearing the same inscription are currently in the Metropolitan Museum in New York (29.100.82 and 59.11.3).
