Very rare first edition of this early guide to the Chamonix valley and Mont Blanc. Illustrated with a copper-engraved frontispiece view (Nant d'Arpenaz) and a fold-out map in a pocket in fine. The book describes the route from Geneva to Chamonix via Bonneville and Saint Martin, excursions to Montenvers, Chapeau, Flégère and Brévent, and the return to Geneva via the Col de Balme, Martigny and Évian.
